Witchdoktors
For Fans Of: The Sonics, The Legendary Shack Shakers, MC5, Dr Feelgood, The Hives
The Witchdoktors are legends, almost. Formed in 1986 they have long established themselves as one of the UK’s greatest ever Garage Punk bands. A 5 Year residency at Soho’s 12 Bar Club in London and hundreds of live performances across the country and overseas has seen them rise from underground villains of rock'n'roll to legitimate hoodlums of guitar fuelled chaos! They have shared the stage with many of their own heroes (and influences) such as The Ramones, The Damned, The Cramps, Fleshtones, Revillos, Urban Voodoo Machine, Legendary Shack Shakers, The Germs, Wreckless Eric and many others.
Produced by Pat Collier (Ruts DC, UK Subs, Wonderstuff, Jesus & Mary Chain) and Tim Palmer (Pearl Jam, David Bowie, H.I.M, Robert Plant) ‘Voodoo Eye’ sees the band’s songwriting reach a new peak, capturing the true spirit and sonic impact of their live shows and making this hard hitting 4th album a worthy follow-up to 2008’s critically acclaimed ‘$3 Dollar Hooker’ .
‘A fuelled-up cocktail of punk rock 'n' roll attitude with a sassy twang of trash-a-billy, a bitter twist of country attitude, all whizzed up in a fuzzed-out garage!’ Vive Le Rock
